OLSSON RESIDENCE

Olsson's Residence aim is to design a minimalist contemporary villa based in Qatar for a Swedish family. Decisions are derived from the Lagom and Hygge philosophies that focus on creating a warm, simple, and clutter-free atmosphere. Also, having a neutral color palette and making the space more familiar by sticking to wood and natural materials that are heavily used in Scandinavian interiors. The design emphasizes on having a comfortable and safe interior for autistic people and elderly. This is achieved by: implementing non-slippery finishes for the floors such as wood, having a non-crowded spaces, and an enclosed plan to separate rooms; to help associate each room with the activity it is used for only.
